In 2028, our Winter Wine Roundup comes back home to the Santa Ynez Valley for three nights at Alisal Ranch with 10,500 private acres of rolling hills, ancient oaks, horses, open range, and understated Western luxury just minutes from the Lucas & Lewellen Tasting Rooms in downtown Solvang.

The Alisal has been welcoming guests since 1946, and very little about it feels like an ordinary resort. There are no televisions in the guest cottages. Mornings can begin on horseback. Afternoons are for golf, the private lake, mountain trails, or doing absolutely nothing on a porch. Evenings mean dinner, wine, a fire, and a night sky that reminds you why people have been disappearing out here for generations.

For three nights, we're adding a little Lucas & Lewellen to the experience.

THE WEEKEND

We'll gather for two private Lucas & Lewellen wine tastings, share L&L wines with our evening meals, and spend plenty of unhurried time together over the course of the weekend.

One morning, we'll saddle up for one of the Alisal's signature experiences: the Breakfast Ride to the historic Old Adobe, where a Western breakfast waits beneath the sycamores. Prefer not to ride? Take the haywagon and meet us there.

We'll have a traditional Western cookout with cowboy music, gather around the campfire for s'mores under the stars, and finish evenings with a nightcap in the ranch's cool old-school Western bar.

And because this is the Alisal, you don't have to spend the entire weekend with us.

YOUR RANCH. YOUR DAY.

Each room receives two activity credits per night, giving you time to make the Alisal your own. Ride horseback through the Santa Ynez backcountry. Play one of the ranch's two championship golf courses. Try archery, air rifle, or axe throwing. Head into the hills on a guided mountain e-bike. Take one of the little aluminum boats onto Alisal Lake. Or skip all of it and enjoy a quiet afternoon at one of California's great guest ranches. This is a weekend with a schedule, but we are keeping it relaxed.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

Three nights at Alisal Ranch for two, full breakfast and dinner each day, two ranch activity credits per room per night, our special Lucas & Lewellen events, hosted wine tastings, and select Lucas & Lewellen wines with dinner.

Lunch is on your own, whether you stay at the ranch or wander into nearby Solvang. And since our Lucas & Lewellen and Toccata tasting rooms happen to be there, we know a couple of good places to stop.

Pricing: TBA - around $4,250 double occupancy for two in a room. Upgraded accommodations and additional nights may be available at an additional cost.

A DIFFERENT KIND OF WINE WEEKEND

This isn't a wine tour with a hotel attached to it. It's three days at one of the West's great ranch retreats, surrounded by the vineyards and countryside we call home with good horses, good food, beautiful wine, and the people we genuinely enjoy spending time with.
